Message from the Governor

As your Governor, it is both an honor and a privilege to serve the people of this great county. My administration is dedicated to fostering sustainable development, enhancing public service delivery, and improving the overall quality of life for every resident of Samburu.

The office of the Governor's Commitment

The Office of the Governor is tasked with the overall leadership and coordination of all government functions within Samburu County. We aim to: Promote Good Governance: Ensure that all public resources are managed efficiently and transparently, for the benefit of the people. Facilitate Development Projects: Drive infrastructure, education, healthcare, and economic development to uplift living standards across the county. Enhance Service Delivery: Work with county departments to ensure that essential services are accessible to all, with a focus on efficiency and effectiveness. Empower Communities: Foster economic opportunities and social development for marginalized groups, including women, youth, and people living with disabilities. Sustain Environmental Protection: Lead efforts to conserve Samburu’s unique natural resources through sustainable practices and community involvement.

Governor’s Strategic Focus

The Governor’s Office operates under a clear vision to improve key sectors that are crucial to the county’s development. These include: Infrastructure Development: Enhancing road networks, upgrading public facilities, and improving access to essential services in rural and urban areas. Healthcare Services: Expanding health infrastructure, equipping medical facilities, and promoting public health initiatives to provide better healthcare access to all residents. Education and Youth Empowerment: Focusing on quality education, skills development, and creating employment opportunities for youth, ensuring their active participation in the county’s growth. Economic Growth: Promoting agricultural productivity, livestock development, and tourism to create sustainable livelihoods and attract investments. Environmental Sustainability: Prioritizing conservation efforts, reforestation, and the sustainable management of water and land resources to protect Samburu's natural heritage.

Governor’s Office Functions

The Governor’s Office oversees: Policy Formulation and Implementation: Setting the strategic direction for county development and working with departments to implement policies that meet the needs of the people. Public Engagement and Outreach: Hosting forums, public participation meetings, and community dialogues to ensure all residents have a voice in shaping the future of Samburu. Intergovernmental Relations: Collaborating with national government bodies, development partners, and international organizations to mobilize resources and drive county development agendas. Resource Allocation: Ensuring equitable distribution of resources across all wards and sectors to promote balanced growth.
