The department of Culture, Social Services, Gender, Sports & Youth is committed to promoting cultural preservation, social welfare, gender equality, and youth empowerment in Samburu County. Our vision is to create an inclusive and supportive environment where all citizens, especially women, youth, and vulnerable groups, can thrive. Through our programs, we work to safeguard our rich cultural heritage while fostering a stronger, more equitable society.

Department Mandate​

The department focuses on:

  • Cultural Preservation: Protecting and promoting the rich traditions, language, and cultural practices of the Samburu people.
  • Social Services: Enhancing the welfare and well-being of vulnerable populations by providing essential services and support.
  • Gender Equality: Advocating for women’s rights and gender parity in all areas of life.
  • Sports & Youth Empowerment: Encouraging youth participation in sports, leadership, and entrepreneurship to build a brighter future for Samburu County.
